Nature Education

Discover the magic of nature through engaging workshops and private nature experiences.

I constantly marvel at our ability to find wonder in the smallest things. A giant worm wriggling in the dirt. A pine cone. A sprouting chestnut. The way sunlight catches a spider’s web. Children seem to discover these moments effortlessly, while adults often have to remember how to look for them.

What comes naturally to children is something many of us gradually lose as life becomes busier. Slowing down, paying attention, and noticing the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary becomes a choice—and one that’s increasingly difficult to make.

In Nature with Nina exists to help people reconnect with that sense of wonder. Through curiosity, guided exploration, creativity, and the quiet intelligence of the natural world, I create experiences where children, families, and adults alike can slow down, notice more deeply, and leave feeling a little more connected—to nature, to one another, and to themselves.

I don’t believe nature is something to be rushed through or simply learned about. It’s something to be experienced.

I don’t give people all the answers. I offer better questions—and then I get out of the way.

That’s not just an educational philosophy. It’s a belief: that curiosity already lives within us. Nature has a remarkable way of bringing it back to the surface, if we’re willing to slow down long enough to notice.

Discover the Wonders of Nature Together

Engage in exciting nature activities that foster curiosity and connection with the environment.

Over the past fifteen years, I’ve taught in classrooms, wandered nature trails, explored museums, and discovered that the most meaningful learning often happens somewhere in between. I hold an M.S. in Elementary Education and an MEd in Value-Creating Education for Global Citizenship—a philosophy that transformed not only how I teach, but how I think about learning itself. It taught me that every person already possesses an incredible capacity for curiosity, creativity, and connection. My role isn’t to provide all the answers, but to create the conditions for discovery.

I discovered just how powerful nature could be as a teacher during a season of environmental conservation work in Bijagua, Costa Rica. I woke each morning to hummingbirds, howler monkeys, and puma footprints pressed into the wet mud outside my door. Somewhere between the rainforest and the wildlife, something quietly shifted. I realized that wonder isn’t something we have to create—it’s already there, waiting for us to slow down enough to notice it.

That’s what inspired In Nature with Nina. It didn’t begin as a business idea; it began as a hope to help people reconnect with the natural world through curiosity, exploration, and shared discovery. Whether I’m guiding a child’s first wildlife safari, leading a family through the hidden corners of El Retiro, or inviting adults to experience nature with fresh eyes, my goal is always the same: to help people leave feeling a little more connected to the world around them.
